Ben got a crazy idea that he needed to see the Tour of California bike race this year....even though we will be seeing the ultimate Tour de France. SO after manipulating some dear friends into going with us- we packed up and headed south.
BUT really the REAL reason to go to Southern Cal....
DISNEYLAND!!!
Day 1:
The next day Ben rode the mountain stage of the Tour with Jonathan and Erin and I drove an hour and a half to the finish line with 6 kids. Great fun. As you can see, I wasn't as diligent in documenting this day- and the pocket camera I gave to Ben was out of batteries. I don't know any names of these racers- but I believe the guy in front won the stage. :)
Disney Day 2:
Princess Tiana. Definitely the highlight of both days for the two girls. We didn't even need to look for anyone else after this.
We had so much fun! But- 3 kids and 2 days at Disney wore me out. Next time Grandma is coming with us, and maybe a nanny. Maija had a great time going on all the big kid rides. We all loved the new Toy Story ride and also eating beignets in old New Orleans! I would say I can't wait to go back- but that would be lying. So much fun- but I CAN wait. Now I'm going on a vacation that is an actual vacation. (aka: sleeping in, sitting and doing NOTHING)

Well that's cute--the kids with Woody was my favorite because I love their fluffy skirts. Your daughters are precious. Looks like you had a great time.
I am impressed that Ben rode his bike--Whit's doing a marathon this December (his first) and he wants to try the triathlon next. Maybe they can train together.

HA! You're so funny. I think I need a nanny to move in with me. Vacations with the kids are so fun but so exhausting. Looks like they loved it.
